Tecnológico de Monterrey
"Entrepreneurial Culture"Mission
The mission of the Tecnológico de Monterrey (Monterrey Institute of Technology) is to form persons with integrity, ethical standards and a humanistic outlook, who are internationally competitive in their professional field and, who, at the same time are good citizens committed to the economic, political, social and cultural development of their community and to the sustainable use of natural resources.
Profile
The Tecnológico de Monterrey is a Mexican private educational institution that was founded in 1943. We prepare students and transfer knowledge through our educational, research and development programs ranging from secondary through to post-graduate university instruction.
Prepa Tec is our network of secondary schools. In Prepa Tec, students learn to construct their own knowledge by means of dynamic, interactive, and stimulating activities. We offer students the option of three distinct curricula, based on the challenges of a globalized world, the constant advances of science and technology, and a vision of a more humanized life:
Prepa Tec Bilingual• Students can learn and elevate their English through materials on grammar and substantive subjects chosen from across the English language
Prepa Tec Bicultural
• Students from bilingual schools or those who manage English like a mother tongue can perfect advanced-level English, with 50% of courses offered in English as well as the option to then advance their English further or learn another language
Prepa Tec International
• Students of this excellence program, offered in accordance with the guidelines of International Baccalaureate, can access content in a more global context and can choose subjects based on their personal interests
The graduates of all of three streams have the right to continue their post-secondary professional studies within the Tecnológico de Monterrey.
Results
Our national and international accreditations, our social impact in Mexico, the economic impact and development of graduates and the sustained growth of the institution are among the ways we measure our results.
Our high school students complete social services activities that include:
• Assistance to hospice and/or homes with the goal of making physical improvements or sharing time with people.
• Support in literacy campaigns.
• Partnerships with organizations that care for terminally ill children and provide support and seek to fulfill their last wishes.
• Environmental campaigns such as reforestation, conservation and cleaning of various areas.
We may evaluate the academic performance by the results that our graduates earn in external tests such as:
• The professional entrance examination (EXANI II) that the National Assessment Center (CENEVAL) applies where of all of our graduates over 90% of them are within the highest quintile nationally.
• The ENLACE exam, where more than 95% placed above the national average.
• For those students of the International Baccalaureate, over 80% get better results than the global average in their examinations.
Our high schools have international recognition by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) in ten campuses that offer the IB program.
