Marked by competence and outstanding results, the COC brand is considered one of the most avant-garde methods of teaching in Brazil today.
COC was founded in 1963 when a group of students at the USP University of Medicine in Ribeirão Preto created the Osvaldo Cruz Course with the aim of preparing students for the school’s entrance exams. Years later, following the success of these students, COC went on to found pre-school, elementary and high schools programs, eventually creating a vast educational network known as the Sistema Educacional Brasileiro (Brazilian Education System), which has grown to include universities, distance education and a publishing house that produces pioneering curriculum and teaching methodologies.
COC offers a highly developed structure, carefully designed to help students achieve the best results. All of our classrooms are equipped with the latest generation technical resources, such as the digital electronic blackboard that allows total interactivity between teacher and student. In our 3D classrooms, items can be observed from multiple angles, giving the sensation that the object is actually present. In addition, students have access to modern laboratories that motivate their learning and enhance the application of theory.
The responsibility of COC to prepare students to enter the best universities requires that subjects are studied in greater depth and are not limited to what is offered in commercial text books. In addition to our collection of printed books, we also provide Electronic Books, developed by COC, which offer greater incentives to study both in the classroom and at home.

This reputation stems largely from our offering of quality programs, methodology and teaching materials, all of which has allowed us to retain our current students and attract new students and partner schools.

Today, COC can be found in over 250 Brazilian cities, as well as 5 Japanese cities, all serving more than 250,000 students.
