Discovering Schools

The Showcase is a place where potential school operators, investors, government officials and parents interested in greater school choice in their community can connect with innovative school chains from around the world.

A school chain refers to a group of schools:

  1. successfully replicated in three or more locations;
  2. guided by a clear mission; and
  3. that objectively measures the extent to which it meets its goals.

As replicated institutions, school chains offer an established reputation and approach. As mission-led institutions, school chains offer unique models to serve student populations and to provide benefits to students and their families, which may not yet be available elsewhere in the world.

Our role is to identify candidate school chains through research and through submissions on our site.  Then, if they meet our criteria, we profile them on schoolchains.org.

Linking Stakeholders

At schoolchains.org you can easily connect with school chain operators to find out how you can bring their schools to your locale.

The Showcase connects those in need of innovative schools with those who have already established them. Potential school operators, investors, government officials and parents interested in greater school choice in their communities may interact with school chains that wish to expand.

Improving Education

The ultimate goal of the Showcase is to improve education worldwide by encouraging and assisting successful school chains throughout the world to expand nationally and internationally.

...Around the World

The Showcase is international in scope. It features school chains from around the globe and its multi-lingual site is designed to connect interested parties around the world.

The Fraser Institute

The School Chain Showcase is a program of the Department of School Performance Studies of the Fraser Institute.

Our vision is a free and prosperous world where individuals benefit from greater choice, competitive markets, and personal responsibility. Our mission is to measure, study, and communicate the impact of competitive markets and government interventions on the welfare of individuals.

Founded in 1974, we are an independent research and educational organization with locations throughout North America, and international partners in over 70 countries. Our work is financed by tax-deductible contributions from thousands of individuals, organizations, and foundations. In order to protect its independence, the Institute does not accept grants from government or contracts for research.
